Ted graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1976 and attended Kirksville University.  After attending for a year he decided college wasn't for him and went to work for McClain's Quarry and worked there for several years.  While working there he became of member of the Teamsters and Operators Union and worked at various job sites for 29 years.  After leaving there he went to work for Porta King in Montgomery City and retired from there and was able to enjoy retirement until he became sick.  Ted enjoyed nature and sitting outside on the patio and watching the squirrels and birds.  He made sure that they had food every day.  He liked to fish and search for mushrooms and enjoyed planting a garden and was always planting too much and would give away to anyone that would want some.  He liked plants and had a green thumb and did landscaping to make the view from the patio relaxing and nature friendly.  He was a great host and was always entertaining his friends at what he called the "round table".  Ted had a soft spot for veterans and would help them out if he was able.
