Obituary
Charles Edward “Uncle Butch” Figgemeier, Jr. passed away Friday morning, November 15, 2019 at the Villages of St. Peters, St. Peters, Missouri. The son of Charles Edward and Marvoline Rosalee “Dutch” (Schneier) Figgemeier, he was born September 3, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1968, he married Peggy Jean Swain and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Michael Oswald , one son-in-law, Rick Taylor and brother-in-law, Jim Birmingham. He is survived by: two daughters, Anna Maria Figgemeier-Taylor of St. Petersburg, Florida and Sherri Delayne Brooks of Lexington, Tennesee; two sons, Johnny Gregory Oswald of Nashville, Tennesee and Charles Figgemeier III and wife, Ann Marie of House Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Christine Donze and husband, Rob of Wentzville, Missouri, Patricia Birmingham of Ellisville, Missouri and Linda Huelsebusch and husband, Randy of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother, Jim Figgemeier of Lake Ozark, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Figgemeier served with the U. S Navy from September, 1957 to September, 1959. He was a truck driver and mechanic all of his life. Most of his trucking career was as an automotive freight hauler. He was a mechanic for Carroll Shelby in the 1960’s. Though he suffered a few accidents, he was a devoted motorcyclist. He was known to many as Uncle Butch. He never met a stranger and will be missed by many friends and family.
