Obituary
Herman “Hound” Ulysses Jones was born to Jesse Willis Jones and Mamie Marina Morton and whom preceded him in death. Married to Bertie Katherine Blanks July 29, 1978. Herman Jones worked at Christy Minerals for 37 years until his retirement. Herman “Hound” Jones loved to spend quality time with his family and friend, listening to music enjoying a nice meal and the conversations he had with everyone. He loved to go fishing, hunting with guys and especially his grandkids and nephews. He loved to past time by playing softball, having card games, he especially loved playing poker with the guys. Watching football, baseball, and his western movies were a must and you better not block the tv or try to change the channel, or you would get a few choice, (but loving) words. He was a very charismatic, genuine, loyal, dedicated, hardworking, non-judgmental, laid back, most humble person that always had a smile on his face every time you came into his presence. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family and friends, if you were in need, whether it be, a place to sleep, a mechanic, a teacher, a confidant, a lover, an encourager, a leader, a supporter and a protecter, he gave it freely and humbly as he could without hesitation. He loved his wife, his children, grand and great grandchildren, his siblings, nieces, nephews & friends with all his being. Those that came to know him was truly blessed with his humble spirit; even on his first vacation to Alaska, he managed to make friends there and leave his mark on those he met there.
