William M. Gertken passed away on July 9, 2019 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Gertken nee Noto of Foristell, Missouri; He is survived by his two sons, Salvatore (Melissa) Gertken of Wentzville, MO, Scott (Marla) Gertken of Foristell, MO; three brothers, Joseph (Kathy) Gertken of Reno, NV, James (Pamela) Gertken of Hutchinson, KS, G. Michael Gertken of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Trinity Kate Gertken, Reese Rheann Gertken; two grandsons, Van William Gertken, Luke Salvatore Gertken; Loving uncle and great-uncle; He is preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Jeanne Gertken, brother, John "Tony" Gertken Jr., sister, Mary Jeanne Brady, brother, Thomas Gertken. William and Kathy shared 50 wonderful years of marriage together. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War earning two Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. William was an early innovator of computer software development. He also was a black powder and gun enthusiast and a knife collector and master sharpener. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
