Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of William David Underwood announces his passing on June 23, 2019 at the age of 67. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Mariann and daughter Alicia. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Warren (Young) Underwood, Thomas Underwood, Christine (Dennis) Heneger, Colleen (Tim Walls) Underwood, Dorothy (Dale) Gerstenkorn, Jeff (Norma) Hohl, Jan (Jeff) Brinkley, sister-in-law, Maureen Wilson and their families. David was predeceased by his father, Max Underwood, mother, Hazel Underwood, mother-in-law, Mary Wilson and step-mother, Jacque Underwood. David was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and moved to St. Louis when he was 4 years old. He attended Ritenour and Hazelwood schools and ultimately graduated from St. Charles High in 1970. After high school, he found meaningful employment at Target as a Receiving Manager for 28 years. David played hockey when he was young and was an avid Blues fan. He was excited and blessed to see the Blues win the Stanley Cup shortly before his passing. He loved sports and though he was unable to play in later years, he took great pleasure in watching his daughter Alicia participate in many activities. David also loved Ford Mustangs! He owned several through the years, always red; most currently a red 2010 GT. He also loved fishing and Spirit Lake Iowa with good memories of boating and swimming with his Dad, brothers and sisters and northern cousins. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Dave’s life will begin with a visitation from 1-3 pm July 12th at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, Missouri 63385. A private Memorial Service will follow at 3 pm.
