Obituary
It is with sad hearts we announce that Robert Paul Farrar Sr. left this world on Thursday, May 9th 2019, but it is also with great joy we announce he has made it safely home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Robert was born January 22, 1932. He was 87 years old. He attended Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of the United States Marine Corp. from 1950-1952. He owned Farrar and Sonís Meats, a family Business in San Pedro Ca, for 20 years. He retired from Meat Cutters Local 88 with Dierbergís Markets in 1996. He was an avid golfer and loved to sing. Bob had been a member of Village Parkway Baptist Church in San Antonio Texas, where there will be a memorial service on June 1st at 11 a.m. Bob was a loving father and husband. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Joann Young in 2006, and Marie Smithers his loving wife of almost 7 years in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Jerry Farrar, James Farrar, Frank Bryant and sister Pat Newberry. He is survived by brothers, Paul Sutton, Ted Farrar, Jack Farrar and sisters Ruth Coatney, and Doris Solock. He is also survived by his children Robert Farrar Jr. and wife Charity, Thomas Farrar and wife Jane, Richard Farrar and wife Linda and daughter Kim Farrar along with 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A light luncheon will follow the service and there will be military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2p.m.
