Mercy Sachs-Fechter went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2017, at the age of 97. She is survived by her husband: Ralph Fechter, four daughters: Madonna (Joel) Tyser of Mexico, MO, Mary (Norton) Evans of Columbia, MO, Marie (Vince) Glenville of O’Fallon, MO, and Marlene (Tony) Long of Chesterfield, MO.; sister: Thelma (Art) Niebur of O’Fallon, MO; 16 grandchildren: Megan Shifrin, Brielle Bayless, Jared Tyser, Alayna Abbate, Ryan Tyser, Svetlana Tyser, Dakota Owens, Josh Evans, Cole Evans, Audrey Wheeler, Austin Glenville, Andrea Glenville, Adam Glenville, Alyssa Glenville, Christina Long and Nathan Long; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Dunn nee Norton; first husband, Orville Sachs; brother, George and three sisters, Willa Mae, Beatrice, and Darlene. Mercy was born August 7, 1920, in Silex, MO to William and Ida Dunn. She graduated from Silex High School at the age of 17 and moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the government for many years. After moving back to Missouri, she began her sales career working for ALCOA, selling Wear-Ever Cookware and Cutco Cutlery. Spanning over 40 years, Mercy was successful leading the company in sales for several years and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972. She attended Holy Infant Catholic Church. Mercy enjoyed cooking, ballroom dancing, fishing, and especially spending time with her grandkids. She had great faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
