Avis Janice Lee Blanks Bradshaw was born on September 22, 1944 to Abe Blanks and Mary Lee Bishop who precedes her in death. Avis went to school in Wright City. Avis worked at Charleswood Furniture Corporation for 32 years. Avis was united in marriage to Russell Bradshaw, Jr. on March 29, 1966. To this union was born 3 sons. Avis loved to bowl, she bowled on a league for many years-traveling each year to state and nationals to bowl. She loved to play bingo, a card game called 5& up. Avis loved to go and play on the boat. She leaves to cherish her two sons Roland Bradshaw and Jeffrey Bradshaw. Three grandchildren, Jasmine Bradshaw, Jeffrey Bradshaw Jr. and Gabrielle Bradshaw. One great-granddaughter Janelle Phillips and one great grand son waiting on arrival- T. J. She leaves behind seven brothers, Florence (Laura) Blanks, Corneluis Blanks, Eddie (Tisha) Cotton, Lonnie (Wyketa) Bishop, Donnie (Debra) Bishop, George Mozee, and Wilbur (Stephanie) Mozee, one sister Bertie (Herman) Jones. She leaves behind her brother-in-laws David (Pat) Bradshaw, Joseph (Janice) Bradshaw, Howard Bradshaw. Her sister-in-laws, Mamie (Johnny) Simpson, Ruth (Lionel) Luckett, Rosemary (Glen) Luckett, Ruby (Ivyie) Floyd and Diane (Rick) Burnside. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Avis was preceded in death by her husband Russell Bradshaw, Jr., son Ronald Bradshaw, brother Otis Blanks, sisters, Stacey Mayfield, Marlene Bishop, Darlene Bishop.
