Caden Wayne West Hastie passed away on March 18, 2017 at the age of 20. He is survived by his Mother and Stepfather, Natalie (West) and Michael DeYoung of Wentzville, MO; Father, Gregory Hastie of Lorain, OH; Grandmother, Susan (Ronald Sr.) Seagraves; Brother, Coty Blake West (Katherine Kasserman) Hastie of Los Angeles, CA; Cousin, Anthony Celano of O'Fallon, MO; Nephew, Gavin, and Niece, Graysen, children of Ashley (DeYoung) and David Cox of Newnan, GA; Great Uncle, Vincent N. Celano of O'Fallon, MO; Great Grandmother, Theresa West of Potosi, MO; He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Larry E. West; Great Grandfather, Melvin "Rusty" E. Walton. As a child, Caden enjoyed participating in basketball, T-ball, soccer, and wrestling. As he grew older, his interests changed to skateboarding, motorcycles, trail riding, fast cars, politics, music, travel, nutrition & fitness and the great outdoors. He worked at Michaels in Wentzville, where he was Employee of the Month, while attending Timberland High School. In his Senior year (2014), he was a Link Crew Leader and graduated with Honors. After graduation, Caden attended California State University at Monterey Bay. He loved the West Coast, however he moved home to be close to his family. He then enrolled in St. Charles County Community College, and worked as a Shift Leader at Domino's Pizzeria. He went on to Mizzou where he was completing a degree in Business and working as an Associate at Menards until passing. He was a Key Member of the Week several times, as well as a Service Hero recipient and Key Member of the Month. Additionally, he was passionate about auto mechanics and refined his auto detailing abilities to serve as successful self employment. He loved animals, especially cats. He adopted Lucy, Ariel and Sienna, from the Humane Society of Columbia, MO. Caden loved to travel with family, he enjoyed trips to Los Angeles, Colorado, Jamaica, Belize, Hawaii, Dominican Republic and Disney World. He was a dedicated and loyal friend and family member. He lived life with compassion, energy and love. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
