Obituary
Asleep in Jesus. Pastor Michael Piper passed away on February 7, 2017, at the age of 54. He is the beloved husband of Kay Piper nee McDonald of New Melle, Missouri. He is survived by his father, Walter Piper of Tarpon Springs, FL; step-mother, Catherine Piper of Tarpon Springs, FL; three sons, Joshua, Robert and Thomas Piper, all of New Melle, MO; daughter, Natalie Piper of St. Louis, MO; brother, Todd (Carolyn) Piper of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Suzanne (Lew Shortz) Piper of Palm Harbor, FL and Sandra Piper of Clearwater, FL; step-sister, Kate (Stephen) Rumble of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Charlena Piper; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Piper nee Lassila and brother, Scott Piper. Michael served as the Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Melle, Missouri since 1997. He was a member of the New Melle Chamber of Commerce, the Bench Rest Rifle Club and the Russian Speakers Meetup Group. Michael was also active with the Gold's Gym Training Program. Mostly, he was a wonderful husband, father and son and a beloved Pastor. He was dearly loved and will be long remembered in the hearts of many.
