Obituary
Luther Steele, Jr. “Bubby”, passed away Sunday evening, November 6, 2016 in St. Charles, Missouri. He was born July 3, 1939 to his parents, Luther Senior and Lela Steele (Sims) in Foristell, MO. Mr. Steele leaves to morn his passing, six sons, Byron Steele of St. Charles, MO, Jeffrey Steele (Chetovea) of Los Angeles, CA, Rodney Hayden (Lita) of St. Peters, MO, Kevin Hayden (Victoria) of O’Fallon, MO, Davon Steele (Katie) of Foristell, MO and Chris Thomas (Karen) of St. Charles, MO; three daughters, Alletta Callaway (Wendell) of Littleton, CO, Carla Marr of St. Charles, MO and Tracy Thomas of St. Charles, MO; three step-children, Stephanie Mozee (Wilbur) of St. Charles, MO, Steven Steele (Melissa) of St. Charles, MO and Juan Roundtree of St. Peters, MO. Mr. Steele is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two nieces, Vanessa Alexander of St. Louis County, MO and Marsleen Kerr (Curtis) of Elsberry, MO and one nephew, Milford Steele of Elsberry, MO. He leaves behind a host of many more relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward Steele; one sister, Zelma Oglesby and one child. Mr. Steele attended Franklin High School in St. Charles and graduated high school in Wentzville, MO. He was drafted into the Army in 1964, and served for a short period of time. He played baseball in his early years playing on various teams in which he was commended for his outstanding pitching talent. He worked at Binkley’s until his retirement. He was an excellent cook and loved to cook for his family and friends. He loved life, and lived it to the fullest.
