Obituary
Cathey L. Nemish passed away peacefully in her home on November 6, 2016, after courageously battling a long illness. Cathey was born in Mobile, AL and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Auburn University and the University of Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cathey was a successful Industrial Engineer, and her career included over sixteen years for Boeing where she managed Information Technology processes. For a time, Cathey was the spokesperson for the Boeing Wellness Program, which was instrumental in the discovery of her illness. Cathey was a dedicated member of the St. Charles County Junior Service League for over 25 years, where she served in many capacities, including President. Cathey also volunteered with the Saint Louis Ovarian Cancer Association to raise funds for ovarian cancer research, including being the Keynote Speaker for the annual SLOCA fundraising banquet. Cathey is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Thurston (Skip) Lewis, Jr. Cathey is survived by her husband, Steve Nemish; her two sons, Chris and Mark Chambers, and two step-sons, Steve and Greg Nemish and their families; as well as her mother and father and her three sisters. Her greatest joy in life was her family and spending time with them and keeping them close. A Celebration of Life will be held in Cathey’s home on Saturday, November the 12th from 12-3 pm for close family and friends. In lieu in flowers, Cathey requested that donations be made to the Clearity Research Foundation, which advances treatment of ovarian cancer using molecular profiling to optimize targeted treatment strategies. Their efforts contributed heavily to her nine year-survival. If you would like to make a donation please go to: https://www.razoo.com/us/story/Catheynemish
