Obituary
Bruce Allen Burkeen of St. Peters, MO passed away on May 26, 2016, at the age of 52. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kelly Ann Burkeen and step-daughters, Ashley and her husband Nate and Emily (Patrick Lawrence), his beloved parents Bryant and Kay Burkeen, and his siblings Shari and Neil Ewing and Nancy Venable (Tom Chambers). He was the cherished grandfather to Liam and Adellyn Norman. He was a proud uncle to Brittney and Austin Klein (Brennan and Ethan Klein), Bradley Ewing and Melissa Moore (Leo Ewing), Alexis Venable and Haley Venable. He was also survived by his Godmother Laura Rainwater, his Aunt Ruth Phillips, Uncle Guy Burkeen, Uncle Donnie Burkeen and his dear lifelong friend Tim Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Guy and Catherine Burkeen and Lucille “Granny” McCormick. Bruce was born on April 17, 1964, in St. Louis, MO. He was 4th in the state of Missouri for BMX racing throughout high school. He graduated from North County technical school in 1982 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He became a talented machinist at McDonnell Douglas and later at UMSL as a Senior Research Engineering Technician. He also had a strong passion for woodworking and was always “Mr. Fix it” and did it with a smile. He is loved by many and will forever be in our hearts.
