Dorothy Sue (Butler) Calhoun, 51, lost her long and courageous battle with cancer Saturday March 26th, 2016 in the home she shared with husband Donald in Montgomery City, Missouri. She was born June 23rd 1964, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Samuel Paul and Edith Viola Butler. Dorothy was previously married to Edward Dean Huff of Wellsville, Missouri and share two children, Amanda Sue Huff and Edward "DJ" Dean Huff Jr., and seven grandchildren.
Dorothy's greatest achievements in life were her children and she absolutely adored her grandchildren. She loved spending time outside sitting around a fire pit visiting with everybody who stopped by. She enjoyed fishing and always tried to catch the biggest catfish, and camping with anybody who would go with her. Dorothy was selfless and was the first to offer her shoulder to anybody who needed a friend. She was a loyal, honest, caring woman who never met a person she didn't like. She had a big heart and wasn’t afraid to show her emotions. Dorothy had a laugh that was contagious and she could easily light up the room with her witty humor. Dorothy was a sociable woman who loved spending time with her large family, including several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father Samuel, mother Edith, brother Larry Butler, sister Gladys (Butler) Calhoun and two nephews Samuel "Davy" Ferguson and Steven Calhoun. She is survived by husband Donald Calhoun, daughter Amanda Huff and fiancé Ray Aery of Mabelvale Arkansas, son DJ Huff and wife Nataly of Montgomery City, Missouri. Grandchildren Heather Huff, Danica Huff, Dawson Huff, Landon Huff, Alyssa Huff, Anthony Aery, and Ayden Aery. Dorothy is also survived by two brothers, Paul Butler and wife Penny of Montgomery City, Missouri, and Kenny Butler and wife Sandy of Warrenton Missouri, and five sisters, Ann Calhoun and husband Arnie of Little Rock, Arkansas, Pauline Naughton of Wellsville, Missouri, Linda Scott of Corinth Mississippi, Debbie Tall Talley and boyfriend Steve Campbell of Montgomery City, Missouri, and Beverly Hunter and husband Jimmy of Rocky Mount Missouri.
A Celebration of Life is planned for the weekend of June 25, 2016 at Marshall Diggs in Wellsville, Missouri. Further details will be decided at a later date.
