Obituary
Theodore B. Splitt, Jr. was born in Warren County on August 19, 1934 to Theodore Splitt, Sr. and Julia (Lammers) Splitt. He grew up on the family farm originally owned by his grandparents located on Loutre Island in McKittrick, MO. Theodore graduated from Hermann High School in 1952. Following high school, he attended University of Missouri majoring in mechanical engineering. Later in life, he earned degrees in Business Management and an Associate degree in Administration of Justice at St. Mary’s College in O’Fallon, MO. He received his Bachelor of Art from Lindenwood University in Administration of Justice and qualified as a Certified Police Officer by Governor Teasdale in the state of MO. Also he completed requirements at the U.S. Army Logistics College at Ft. Lee, VA to qualify as a Depot Manager. Other training included qualification as a Chief Warrant Officer by the Army Criminal Investigation Command, Civil Defense Police training at St. Charles, MO. Ted was employed for 23 years at Binkley Company as a Research and Development Engineer. Later he worked for the U.S. Navy as a civil service Logistics Manager for 15 years with the Naval Air Warfare Center in Indianapolis, IN. Ted served the City of Warrenton as a Municipal Judge for 8 years, held the position of Capt of the Warren County Civil Defense for many years, appointed special duty sheriff of Warren County. Ted was a co-holder of a Patent in three countries, performed some translation duties of drawing from English to German and is listed in the 1981 “Who’s who in the Midwest”. Ted is survived by his wife of 60 years Lorna Split nee Smith of Berger, MO. His son Ken (Anne) Splitt, 4 grandchildren-Joseph and Michael Splitt, Katherine (Kayle) Ballew, Matthew Rehagen. 2 great-grandchildren-Natalie and Alex, his sister Dorothy (Ray)Welge. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Splitt, Sr and Julia Splitt nee Lammers.
