Obituary
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, JoAnn Martin of Dardenne Prairie, MO, One daughter, Deanna, Husband (Jeremiah), Martin/Freedman of Hudson, Ohio, One son, Christopher, Wife (Theresa), Martin of St. Louis, MO, Six Grand Children, Abigail Martin, Isaac Freedman, Loralei Martin, Molly Freedman, Samuel Martin and Hannah Freedman. Mr. Martin was a Loving Husband, Father and Grand Father. He was born on September 2, 1944, at Waynesville, MO and passed to his eternal reward on April 15, 2015 at his home in Dardenne Prairie, MO. He had attained the age of 70 years, 7 months and 13 days. He grew up on a farm near Dixon, MO. He moved to the St. Louis area in the early Sixties. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was assigned to a Service Battery Artillery Unit on the Czechoslovakia Border. His home base was Munich, Germany. Mr. Martin worked for the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 35 years. His position at the time of Retirement was Director for the (FHA) Home Loan/Single Family Housing Programs for the Eastern Half of Missouri and nine Counties in Illinois around the Metropolitan Area of St. Louis. He was a Life Member of his Masonic Lodge St. Charles #241, Shriners Hospital Committee, the American Legion, the DeMolay Legion of Honor and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was active in the Missouri DeMolay for young men and the Missouri Rainbow Organization for young women. Mr. Martin was an avid trout fisherman and he loved to fish the Current River near Montauk, MO. Mr. Martin was active in his church and was a member of Dardenne Baptist Church, O'Fallon, MO. He made a Commitment of Faith in the Pisgah Baptist Church, Dixon, MO and was baptized on August 8, 1953 in the Gasconade River. Pall Bearers for Mr. Martin are Terry Wright, Stanley Dieman, Henry C. Eirich, Ronald Kellams, Jeffrey Oldfield and John Fantauzzi. Honorary Pall Bearers are his six Grand Children, Abigail Martin, Isaac Freedman, Loralei Martin, Molly Freedman, Samuel Martin and Hannah Freedman. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
