Obituary
James Lee Simms passed away on January 20, 2015 at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Simms nee Detring of Wentzville, Missouri. He is survived by his son, Mike (Patricia) Simms; daughter, Denise (Bob) Meyer; two sisters: Mary Lou (J.D. - Deceased) Hahn & Dorothy (Ken) Toerper; five grandchildren: Christopher (Shelly) Simms, Erik (Kathryn) Simms, Douglas (Tracy) Simms, Laura (Warren) Meyer-Rix & Natalie (Dana) Meyer-Shaw; six great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Allison, Riley & Olivia Simms, David Meyer and Ryan Rix; He was preceded in death by his parents: John William Simms & Mary Belle Simms nee Grider and brother, John Eugene (Rosalie) Simms. Mr. Simms was married to Charlotte Simms nee Detring for 64 wonderful years. James served our country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed on the U.S.S. DD 561 Pritchett. He was an active member of the VFW and the American Legion Organizations. He enjoyed wood carving and studying genealogy. James was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville for 20+ years. He especially cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
