Gregory J. Bauer died Oct. 8, 2014, after a 17-year battle against Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), a rare muscle disease with no known cause, treatment or cure. He donated his body to the Washington University School of Medicine for research to benefit others. He was 85. He is survived by wife Jean; children Gregory Z. Bauer and Jill (Mark) DuChesne; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Fields, Matthew and Jonathan DuChesne; brothers Raymond and Bruce Bauer. Parents Gregory and Helen, and daughter Diane died earlier.
He spent his entire working career at Southern Equipment Co., retiring as president in 1985, after which he moved to Lake St. Louis, where he made many friends, played keyboard at nursing homes and social events, and played lots of golf. Remember him for all that he was.
