Obituary
Walter J. Barnes passed away on October 4, 2014 at the age of 84. He is survived by his son, Michael Barnes of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Lori (John) Durkee of Troy, MO; three sisters: Wilma Sawyer of Godfrey, IL, Zita (Harold) Holden of Alton, IL and Vivian (Melvin) Hayden of Perryville, MO; three grandchildren: Tiffany Davis, J.D. & Joe Durkee; three great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Genevieve Weibrecht of Perryville, MO; He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Barnes nee Gibbar; parents: Walter and Zita Barnes nee Comte and brother, Leo Barnes. Mr. Barnes was an Army Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry as well as St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wentzville. He was also involved with the Missouri Gun & Quail Club. The family would like to thank all those who visited, sent cards and prayed for Walter in the recent weeks, especially his friends at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wentzville. A special thanks to Melinda and Diane at DaVita Dialysis for taking great care of Walter and numerous other friends for their support. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
